This large kitchen/family room was the centre of the home for the family. The clients wanted a clean, contemporary look which didn’t look out of place in an older home. As it was for a large family one of the main elements we had to consider was storage, so incorporated a separate walk-in pantry into the design.

To keep the design symmetrical and more pleasing to the eye, we added two ovens and warming drawers in tall cabinets on each side of the built-in oven hood, and an oversized American style fridge-freezer in it’s own built-in housing.

We used a local company Armstrong Jordan to make the bespoke cabinetry and added warm oak shelving inside the display cabinets to create interest. The island was painted Lead Colour No.117 Little Greene and the main units a contrasting pale Shaded White No 201 Farrow & Ball. The pale grey and white granite worktops from Russell Stone were chosen for their clean simple lines and durability which finished the room off with a modern look with a traditional twist.
